			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>We have some excellent news regarding the brilliant <strong>Whats Your Story</strong> films! We are so proud of all the films and it is lovely that they are getting recognition at local and national festivals.</p>
<p> At this years <strong>Hackney Film Festival</strong>, <strong>When Reggae Came To Dalston</strong> was chosen as part of their line up, with a screening on <strong>Sun, 18th September @ 7pm</strong> Dalston Roof Park, 18 Ashwin Street. Congratulations!</p>
<p>And we are delighted to tell you that <strong>Identity</strong> has been chosen for the <strong>Legacy Film Festival</strong> as part of the Shorts session which will be shown as part of the festival on <strong>Sunday October 23rd from 11am &#8211; 12.30pm</strong> at the Old Courtroom, 118 Church Road, Brighton  BN1 1UD. Entry tickets are £4.</p>
<p>In other good news <strong>Singing on the Treetops</strong> is to be part of <strong>Two Short Nights Film Festival 2011</strong>, International Open Screening, <strong>7.30pm on Thursday 1st December, 2011</strong> in the Exeter Phoenix Cinema, Bradninch Place, Gandy St, Exeter, EX4 3LS.<br />
We want to congratulate all involved, its a great pay off to all the hard work!</p>

</strong></p>
<p>The What’s Your Story? training and production series has just completed it&#8217;s second exciting phase with over <strong>12 filmmakers</strong> aged <strong>16-21 years old</strong>, taking part in the Hackney based <strong>Young Documentary Voices</strong> initiative. Led by DFG, participants took part in training sessions which spanned just 5 weeks (between February &#8211; March 2011). All of the young filmmakers have learnt how to use video cameras, record sound, and develop their own ideas &#8211; together they have created <strong>5 super-short films</strong> about <strong>each other&#8217;s stories</strong>.</p>
<p>This event will bring all the Young Documentary Voices participants together to view their completed films for the very first time. You are warmly invited to join DFG at:</p>
<p><strong><a href="http://www.hackney.gov.uk/cl-hackney-central-main.htm">Hackney Central Library</a> on the evening of </strong><strong> Monday 11 April</strong> and celebrate the achievements of this crew of young filmmakers.</p>
<p><strong>Event starts at </strong><strong>6.00pm</strong> (screening will begin at <strong>6.30pm</strong>).</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><em><strong>Aged 16-21 and living in East London? Calling Young Filmmakers!</strong><strong> Make a short doc &amp; tell your own story&#8230;</strong></em></p>
<p>The <a href="http://http://thedfg.org/whatsyourstory">Documentary Filmmakers Group</a> is calling for applications from a <strong>dozen young people</strong> from <strong>different faith backgrounds</strong> to take part in an exciting new part of the What&#8217;s Your Story? training initiative focussing on stories about <strong>identity and faith </strong>in <strong>North East London</strong>. Over the the span of 5 weeks, 12 young people will have the opportunity to learn documentary filmmaking skills from industry professionals and make <strong>short films about each other</strong>.</p>
<p>With funding from the <strong>Faiths in Action</strong> grant programme, DFG are providing documentary filmmaking training for young participants representing the diversity of faiths to be found within North East London.</p>
